ESO Director General at the VLT
This panorama, extended to 360 x 180 degrees (with black), shows one of the smaller auxiliary telescope's of the ESO Very Large Telescope (VLT), which is visible behind the ESO Director General (2007–2017), Tim de Zeeuw. A truly spectacular sky lies over the scene. The Milky Way appears as a great splash of stars, with the fainter blotches of our neighbouring dwarf galaxies — the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds — also visible.
