Annunciati i vincitori delle borse per il quinto Campo di Astronomia dell’ESO

Per il Campo di Astronomia dell’ESO 2017 sono state ricevute più di 180 video-candidature da 19 Paesi diversi e adesso i vincitori delle borse offerte dall’ESO e dai suoi partner nazionali sono stati selezionati.
Questi futuri scienziati e ingegneri hanno presentato candidature di livello estremamente elevato, tutti fortemente motivati ad assicurarsi un posto nel campo di quest'anno.
L’ESO ha il piacere di annunciare che Elise Denis, dalla Francia, è la vincitrice della borsa ESO, che copre l’intero costo del campo e del viaggio.
Qui di seguito i nomi degli studenti che riceveranno un supporto finanziario dai rispettivi partner nazionali:

- dalla Swedish Astronomical Society, Svezia, supporto per Simon Thor
- dalla Eyuboglu High School, Turchia, supporto per Lal Deger e Maria Buse Meral
- dalla Royal Astronomical Society, Regno Unito, supporto per Luke Hasler e Kathy Archibald
Grazie a queste organizzazioni partner e alla borsa dell’ESO, questi studenti avranno un aiuto finanziario che permetterà loro di partecipare a questo evento di enorme potenzialità per il proprio futuro. Tutte le organizzazioni partner partecipano anche all’organizzazione del campo fornendo relatori e il proprio contributo al programma, unite da una comune passione e visione in merito alla divulgazione dell’astronomia.
Il campo — organizzato da Sterrenlab in collaborazione con l’ESO, con la Rete di Divulgazione Scientifica dell’ESO (ESON), e l’Osservatorio Astronomico della Valle d’Aosta (OAVdA) — si terrà dal 26 dicembre 2017 al 1 gennaio 2018 a Saint-Barthélemy, Nus, Italia.
Il campo esplorerà il tema delle “Distanze nell’Universo” attraverso diverse sessioni astronomiche, che includeranno lezioni, attività pratiche e osservazioni notturne con i telescopi e gli strumenti dell’osservatorio. Il campo segue le linee guida sulla Ricerca e Innovazione Responsabile esponendo gli studenti alla vera ricerca e dando loro l'opportunità di interagire con scienziati in attività. Alcune attività sociali, sport invernali ed escursioni contribuiranno a rendere il campo un’esperienza indimenticabile per tutti i partecipanti.
In totale, il campo ospiterà 56 ragazzi di scuola secondaria, tra i 16 e i 18 anni. I candidati selezionati verranno contattati privatamente via e-mail.
