Dear Fellow Communicators,
You can now spy on us 24/7 thanks to new webcams installed at our Paranal and ALMA sites. Also operating at night, they provide a live 360-degree view of the activities at the observatories throughout the year and can be used interactively to explore the sites in all directions in exquisite detail.
If you have a PhD in astronomy with at least 5 years of experience at Post-Doc level or higher, we invite you to have a look at our job opening for an Outreach Astronomer, based at our Headquarters in Garching near Munich, Germany. It is a great opportunity to work with the latest scientific results from ESO and communicate them to the public, alongside a series of other exciting responsibilities. Have a look and if you qualify and are interested in the position, please apply by 20 November 2016.
We would like to congratulate the 16 bursary winners of the ESO Astronomy Camp and also our partners, Sterrenlab, the ESO Science Outreach Network and the Astronomical Observatory of the Autonomous Region of the Aosta Valley, as well as our local partners, without whom this life-changing event would not be possible.
Last, but not least, have a look at our new Music Ambassadors, Toomas Erm and Konstantino Polizois, who are donating their musical compositions for our educational video productions.
Let’s reach new heights in astronomy together!
