Nel corso della cerimonia tenutasi ieri all'Osservatorio del Paranal dell'ESO, nel deserto di Atacama in Cile, il Presidente del Cile, Sebastián Piñera, ha consegnato i documenti ufficiali firmati recentemente con i quali il governo cileno trasferirà il terreno intorno al Cerro Armazones all'ESO. Il Cerro Armazones, un picco di 3060 metri a circa 20 chilometri dal Cerro Paranal, sito del VLT dell'ESO, sarà la futura sede del telescopio E-ELT (European Extremely Large Telescope).
