Colour clouds swirl over ALMA

This time-lapse video captures clouds swirling dramatically over the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), sitting high on the Chajnantor plateau in the Chilean Andes. It is operated by the European Southern Observatory (ESO) together with its international partners. This state-of-the-art telescope comprises 66 high-precision antennas, spread over distances of up to 16 kilometres, which work together to study light from some of the coldest objects in the Universe.
