Postcard 2017: Paranal lasers inside

At ESO’s Paranal Observatory, four laser beams shine out into the darkness from Unit Telescope 4 (UT4) of the Very Large Telescope (VLT). They are the most powerful laser guide stars ever used in astronomy. The full resolution image used in this postcard can be viewed and downloaded here.
