Observing above the Residencia
Along with the Unit Telescopes at ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), there are four Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) which are mobile and able to work together as an interferometer. One of these ATs is pictured here, open and observing, with the Paranal Residencia in the distance.
