Zástupci ESO a Austrálie dnes v Canbeře slavnostně podepsali dohodu o desetiletém strategickém partnerství, které dále posílí vědecké i technické programy ESO a australským astronomům i průmyslu umožní přístup na observatoře La Silla a Paranal. Zároveň by se mohlo jednat o první krok k plnohodnotnému členství Austrálie v ESO.
