Mezinárodní tým astronomů využívající dalekohled ESO s primárním zrcadlem o průměru 3,6 m nalezl planetu podobnou Jupiteru, která obíhá kolem hvězdy slunečního typu HIP 11915 ve zhruba stejné vzdálenosti jako Jupiter kolem Slunce. Podle současných teorií hraje vznik planet o hmotnosti Jupiteru velmi významnou úlohu ve vývoji uspořádání celého planetárního systému. Existence takové planety na dráze podobné jupiterově kolem hvězdy slunečního typu nabízí možnost, že celý planetární systém kolem této stálice by se mohl podobat Sluneční soustavě. Hvězda HIP 11915 je zhruba stejně stará jako Slunce a její složení napovídá, že by se v její blízkosti mohly vyskytovat také kamenné planety.
