Director General at La Silla Observatory
ESO Director General, Xavier Barcons, stands in front of the Chilean Atacama Desert where the La Silla Observatory is situated. Scientists, astronomers, science communicators and the general public gathered to view the total solar eclipse over the observatory and to celebrate this rare event. Picture taken on 2 July 2019.
