A composing of how the ALMA array may look like on top of Chajnantor, at an altitude of 5000 m. ALMA, a partnership between ESO, North America, East Asia and Chile, will consist of at least 54 12-m antennas and 12 7-m antennas that will observe in the millimetre and submillimetre wavelength domain, opening a new window on the cold Universe.
