It's Lonely at the Top

This large antennae, twelve metres in diameter, is not as lonely as it looks. It shares this spot on the Chajnantor plateau with 65 neighbors and between them they make up the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). The site of this huge array in the Chilean Andes is at an altitude of 5000 metres.
