360° night sky over Cerro Armazones
Fish-eye view of the night sky taken from the site-testing facilities at Cerro Armazones, the selected site for the planned European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT). With its 40-metre-class diameter mirror, the E-ELT will be the world’s biggest eye on the sky. The Milky Way and the Large Magellanic Cloud are visible in the upper part of the image.
