The Executive Secretary Royal Astronomical Society Burlington House London W1V 0NL England 4 November 1997 Dear Mr Randall, R A E Fosbury et al., Radio jet interactions in the radio...( MX 749) Following the refereešs comments, I enclose the requisite three copies of a paper I wish to resubmit to the Monthly Notices. I addition to the laser printed pages, I enclose separate copies of the figures and also a disk (Mac formatted) containing the LaTeX source and the encapsulated PS figures as a self-extracting archive. In response to the refereešs comments ‹ which we regard as being most helpful ‹ we have made the following changes: 1) The title has been shortened. 2) The reference to the 8.6Ghz data has been restricted to reporting the spectral index of well defined regions. 3) The orientation of Figure 5 has been corrected. That was our mistake: the overlay was correct but the coordinate system was rotated. There is now a more informative version of Fig. 5 which has made Fig. 7 superfluous. 4) The reference to the emission along the edge of the dust lane (sec 3) has been clarified. 5) The optical feature associated with RC (sec 2.3) must be predominantly continuum since the observations reported by di Serego et al. (1988) were in line-free filters. This has been clarified. 6) Minor points in the reference list and Table 1 have been corrected. Yours sincerely, R A E Fosbury (rfosbury@eso.org)
