ALGORITHM |
Description of algorithms:
SLIT a model slit (a rectangle that can be turned around) is fit to the real slit image.
For the daily grating check the model slit is fit to a bright isolated curved arc line.

COMMENTS |
Three purposes; three strategies:
Grating check Applied to daily isolated bright arc line.
Acquisition The acquisition templates generates an image (TPL.EXPNO=1), and an unpredictable series of
of through slit images (TPL.EXPNO=2 ...n) as part of a manual aligned procedure. All producst are ingested but
only the first one (TPL.EXPNO=2) is of interest and is trended.
Acquisition slit images belong to a certain run.id.
The day time spectroscopic calibrations are embraced by a BEFORE and an AFTER through slit image.
These latter technical day-time through-slit images (in particular the AFTER minus BEFORE values)
document the stability of the spectroscopic arm during day time calibration sequence.
All three types of applications are in one single QC1 DB table isaac_slit. Use the values of the operat_type key
GratingCentralLine, ALING and BEFORE and AFTER to distinguish them.
