This is very much work in progress. Mostly Sabine has been working on defining new suitable fields, but there is an action on both Sabine and Palle to come up with a proposal for a final set of pointings. They will be listed here, and with links to images of each. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear all, today I spent some time on trying to setup new STD positions for FORS1. Due to reduced field-of-view per chip it is becoming more tricky to have at least one Landolt star in. In the attachment you find a list with my results. I have put the data which I used to http://www.eso.org/~smoehler/NewSTD.tar What I did is the following: - call the new fims version - load a DSS image - load the catalogs with too bright stars (Landolt, Stetson for resp. field) - red circles - load the faint Landolt standards - blue squares - load the Stetson catalog for the field with all sufficiently faint Stetson stars - green circles - load the Stetson catalog for the field with sufficiently faint star with data for all filters - magenta circles Then get the FORS FoV for IMG mode and start fiddling... best wishes Sabine ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1/2: number of stars from Stetson/Stetson_allfilters/Landolt 1 2 L95 -15 03:53:15.0 +00:01:45.7 10/ 6/ 2 10/ 5/ 2 -105 11/ 9/ 2 8/ 1/ 2 -195 13/ 5/ 3 6/ 5/ 1 -285 11/ 4/ 2 9/ 7/ 2 L95 -15 03:53:15.9 +00:01:59.8 8/ 6/ 2 9/ 5/ 2 L95 -15 03:53:12.5 +00:01:47.7 8/ 6/ 2 9/ 5/ 2 L95 -15 03:53:15.5 +00:01:33.6 9/ 5/ 2 8/ 4/ 2 ------------------------------------------------------------- L98 -50 06:51:34.6 -00:22:54.7 >20/>20/ 1 >20/>20/ 1 -140 >20/>20/ 2 >20/>10/ 0 -230 >20/>20/ 1 >20/ 20/ 1 -320 >20/ 20/ 1 >20/>20/ 1 L101 0 09:57:26.6 -00:19:56.4 9/ 5/ 1 6/ 3/ 0 -90 6/ 5/ 1 9/ 3/ 0 -180 8/ 3/ 0 8/ 5/ 1 -270 11/ 6/ 0 3/ 3/ 1 L101 0 09:57:26.6 -00:19:31.2 8/ 5/ 1 7/ 4/ 0 L101 0 09:57:26.6 -00:20:52.0 9/ 4/ 1 4/ 3/ 0 ------------------------------------------------------------- L104 -30 12:42:28.0 -00:42:05.5 3/ 3/ 2 1/ 1/ 1 -120 2/ 2/ 2 2/ 2/ 1 -210 2/ 2/ 2 2/ 2/ 1 -300 2/ 2/ 1 2/ 2/ 2 L104 -50 12:42:19.8 -00:41:54.5 3/ 3/ 1 1/ 1/ 1 L104 -30 12:42:31.1 -00:40:08.0 1/ 1/ 1 2/ 2/ 1 L104 -30 12:42:15.5 -00:40:02.8 2/ 2/ 1 1/ 1/ 1 ------------------------------------------------------------- *The bright star is SA110-361, which violates the brightness criterion in V by 0.11 mag only.
