Default configuration of MIDAS

The official MIDAS distribution tape from ESO provides, by default, the following configuration:

• Ready to use the VAX/VMS C compiler. Not valid for OPEN-VMS, therefore if your system is an OPEN-VMS, therefore and as indicated in section Modifying the default configuration of MIDAS you will HAVE to select option 2 (Select C compiler) and then option 1 (VMS C Compiler) if you want to use the OPEN-VMS C Compiler.
• Ready to use the VAX/VMS C compiler (not for OPEN/VMS)
• X11 display (DECwindows or Motif).
• No optional packages. Only the core of MIDAS will be installed.
