Descriptor LHCUTS
Another important descriptor is the real descriptor LHCUTS (6
values). It contains the user specified low + high cuts (which are
e.g. used in a LOAD/IMAGE command) in element 1 + 2 and the
physical minimum and maximum of the data frame in element 3 + 4 (the
elements 5 + 6 are used in some special applications only). When you
enter your data frames into the system via INTAPE, the
descriptor values LHCUTS(3,4) are set up correctly. When
you write your own conversion program make sure to fill LHCUTS
correctly. All MIDAS core commands operating on frame data update
LHCUTS(3,4) accordingly. The MIDAS commands STATISTICS/IMAGE
or FIND/MINMAX will also store the right values into descriptor
LHCUTS.
