Title: Habitable Zones Induced by Tidal Heating Abstract: Moons of planets in eccentric orbits are internally heated through the variable gravitational pull of the planet. In the Solar System, extreme examples occur for the large satellites of Jupiter and Saturn. These moons are interesting from the point of view of astrobiology as terrestrial extremophiles could live in their harsh aliens habitats. This sets the existence of a new HZ far from the star.
