Title:Kinematics of the globular cluster system of NGC 4278

Abstract:
Using the DEIMOS spectrograph on Keck we have obtained over two hundred globular cluster spectra of the 
L* elliptical galaxy NGC 4278. We study the velocity dispersion and rotation both of the whole system and 
of the blue and red globular cluster subpopulations separately. We compare the kinematics of the globular 
cluster system with kinematics of the galaxy''s stars and gas.
