Library and Information Services in Astronomy V (LISA V)
(This message is being cross-posted on Astrolib, PAMnet, EGAL and PAM-APF)
Dear potential LISA V attendee:
As announced previously, LISA V (Common Challenges, Uncommon Solutions)
will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, June 18-21, 2006.
Although it seems a long way off, the SOC and LOC are busily making
plans and we would dearly love your input.
First, we are interested in preliminary expressions of interest in
attending the conference. This is necessary in order to negotiate a
reasonable venue and price for the conference dinner, which we
anticipate at this point will be "heavy hors d'oeuvres" rather than a
sit-down dinner in order to save a little money. If plans work out as
hoped, the venue will be spectacular! So before the end of October,
please send your _non-binding_ expression of interest, including
an indication if you expect to bring a guest to the dinner event with
you. This preliminary "notice of interest" should be sent to Christina
Birdie, SOC co-chair, chris@iiap.res.in .
Second, we are delighted to introduce to you the Scientific Organizing
Committee (SOC) and invite you to send any of them your suggestions and
ideas for a successful program. Please note that a proper Call for
Papers will be sent later.
