The LISA (Library and Information Services in Astronomy) V conference will be hosted by the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Libraries in Cambridge, Massachusetts, June 18-21, 2006.
The Friends of LISA (FOL) Committee is once again raising money to assist astronomy librarians in resource-poor countries to attend this conference by collecting sufficient funds to cover their housing, a small per diem, and, in some cases, travel expenses.

The FOL Committee hopes that awarding grants in mid-December will allow as much time as possible for grantees to complete paperwork and obtain visas. We encourage all those receiving grants to start the visa application process immediately upon receiving the grant. If the Committee receives additional funds after grants are awarded, we will make additional grants.
