Vacuum valve

Vacuum valve

A vacuum valve enclosed the vacuum in the cryostat. Initially, we measured the entire valve in the probe chamber and found a very rich emission spectrum. However further scans of the valve's interior alone, when it was connected to the vacuum chamber, showed no emission at all. Nearly invisible remainders of a stick-on label on the outside had produced this rich spectrum.
