ESO Movie 15: Moments of Celebration

Important events took place in Chile in early December 1996, at the time of the visit by the ESO Council to the ESO installations there. On December 2, the ratification documents of the Interpretative, Supplementary and Modifying Agreement between the Republic of Chile and ESO were exchanged at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Santiago.

Two days later, a Foundation Ceremony was celebrated at the VLT Observatory at Cerro Paranal in the presence of many illustrious guests, including the President of the Republic of Chile and the King and Queen of Sweden.
