Antenna Integration Facilities at ALMA OSF

From right to left, the European, the Japanese and the North American ALMA antenna integration facilities are seen. Here, the three ALMA partners assemble and test their antennas before delivering them to the ALMA observatory. The integration facilities are part of the ALMA Operations Support Facility (OSF), located at 2900 metres altitude on the road to Chajnantor. In the background of this aerial picture, taken on 24 March 2011, the ALMA contractors’ camp is also visible.
