Drones-eye view of the VLT

This rare view of ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) was captured from a drone specially built to tackle the harsh conditions in the Atacama desert, the home of the VLT and the site of  ESO's Paranal observatory.

With it's insulated battery, extended propellors and upgraded motors, the high-altitude drone was able to capture uniquely spectacular views of ESO's observatories.
