UVES at KUEYEN with cover partially lifted
UVES, the high-resolution spectrograph for the VLT, was installed at one of the two Nasmyth foci of KUEYEN in September 1999. The first observations have been very promising (ESO Press Release eso9944). In this view, the cover has been raised and some of the optical elements are visible, e.g. a large grating that serves to disperse the light.
