VIMOS integrated field-spectrum of Antennae Galaxies (detail)
An enlargement of a small area in ESO Press Photo eso0209b. This observation allows mapping of the distribution of elements like hydrogen (H) and sulphur (S II), for which the signatures are clearly identified in these spectra. The wavelength increases towards the top (arrow).
