Desert from above

This is a birds eye view of the Chajnantor plateau in Chile's Atacama Desert. This dry and difficult landscape is home to the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) — a state-of-the-art telescope to study light from some of the coldest objects in the Universe.
