Auxiliary in motion

The 1.8-m Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) at ESO's Very Large Telescope in Chile are smaller than their companions, the Unit Telescopes (UTs). One is pictured here against the backdrop of the starry Chilean night sky, given the clever appearance of motion by the photographer's choice of a blurring effect.
