Cerro Armazones pink landscape

The highest mountain in this sunset landscape bathed in stunning pinkish hues is Cerro Armazones, getting ready to host the world's biggest eye on the sky, the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). Cerro Armazones has an altitude of 3046 metres in the central part of the Chilean Atacama Desert, located at about 20 kilometres from Cerro Paranal, home of ESO's Very Large Telescope.
