A journey to Cerro Chico

ALMA staff drive up to the top of the so-called “Cerro Chico” (the “Little Mountain”), a 5300 metre high hill on the north edge of the Chajnantor Plateau. The top of Cerro Chico offers a fantastic view of the 5000 metre high plateau, where the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array is currently under construction.
