In Garching bei München, nestled into the lush Bavarian landscape, lies the ESO Headquarters, which are pictured in this incredible image from an ultralight plane.

The original ESO Headquarters building can be seen towards the top of this image, with the new extension building — identifiable through its distinct red roof — at the bottom. The black, rounded building to the right is the technical building, where work on new instruments is carried out.
