dblpp:

The delivered version of dbl has difficulties with special
characters like spaces, newlines or tabs when part of a db reference.
(a db reference is always enclosed between square brackets and is
usually part of the initialisation data for an attribute.)
example:
 [^.data("Seeing"  ,value)]
                 **

A more recent version: dblpp 1.19 solves this problem. Since
the dbl is a fully independant module, it is enough to
set-up your INTROOT
retrieve the dblpp 1.19 from the cmm archive
go into the dblpp/src directory, 
run:
make all install
to get the new version in the INTROOT.

If you don't have access to the cmm archive, you can 
retrieve the tar-gziped file from: 
ftp.eso.org 
login anonymous
ftp> cd pub/vlt/vlt/pub/releases/MAR2002/patchedFiles 
ftp> bin
ftp> get dblpp.tar.gz

the file install_MAR2002_Tornado.ascii instructs to do:
$ zcat /cdrom/Tornado2.tgz | tar xf -
while, instead of tar, one has to use gtar, due to the way the cdrom is built.
