Tcl/Tk

Due to an incomplete clean-up as performed by Itcl's Makefile, the Tcl/Tk distribution contains two symbolic links pointing to particular home directories which will normally not exist on external systems. Consequently, building the JAN2006 TCLTK_ROOT from the sources (as contained in the original tcltk-JAN2006.tar.gz file) will fail. The solution to this is easy:

• Unpack tcltk-JAN2006.tar.gz
• cd /path/to/itcl-2005-03-30
• rm itcl/tclconfig itk/tclconfig
• Recreate tcltk-JAN2006.tar.gz
• remove/rename /vlt/JAN2006/tcltk (if it already exists) and run the  buildTcltk script again.
