Currently the telluirc standard stars and the flux standard stars are processed like science data observed in the same mode.

Quality of Cube Construction |
All QC1 parameters refering to tracing the spectra in the cube are limited to spectral regions avoiding the overlaps between the arms (UVB: 350nm-540nm, VIS: 580nm-950nm, NIR: 1000nm-2200nm). For faint objects the traces will be very noisy.
QC1 parameters
- avg_<ij> (QC1 database table xshooter_night_ifu column avg_<ij> with <ij> = 12,23,13 )
gives the average difference between the traces in slice i and j in the constructed merged cube.
- med_<ij> (QC1 database table xshooter_night_ifu column med_<ij> with <ij> = 12,23,13 )
gives the median difference between the traces in slice i and j in the constructed merged cube.
- rms_<ij> (QC1 database table xshooter_night_ifu column rms_<ij> with <ij> = 12,23,13 )
gives the rms of the difference between the traces in slice i and j in the constructed merged cube.
QC1 parameters
- npix_high (QC1 database table xshooter_night_ifu, column npix_high)
gives the maximum number of highly exposed pixels (>60000 ADU for UVB/VIS) in the raw data. These pixels are not saturated but very likely significantly non-linear in their response.
- npix_sat (QC1 database table xshooter_night_ifu, column npix_sat)
gives the number of saturated pixels (65535 ADU for UVB/VIS, 0 for NIR) in the raw data. The correct implementation for NIR data has been done only from version 0.9.8 on, but unfotunately also unsaturated pixels may have a flux of 0 or less in NIR raw data.
- fpix_sat (QC1 database table xshooter_night_ifu, column fpix_sat)
gives the fraction of saturated pixels (65535 ADU for UVB/VIS, 0 for NIR) in the raw data. The correct implementation for NIR data has been done only from version 0.9.8 on, but unfotunately also unsaturated pixels may have a flux of 0 or less in NIR raw data.
