Night-by-night ASM Verification (10 August-10 October 1998)

Introduction

The VLT Astronomical Site Monitor delivers seeing and meteorological data in an automated way since the end of the ASM commissioning run on August 10, 1998. The system is however under close monitoring for the next two months so as to characterize its global behaviour under various outside conditions and to decide for possible improvements to be included in the next software release.

Night by Night ASM-DIMM Seeing Monitoring

The seeing is corrected for Zenith and 0.5 micron. The airmass of measurement is given for checking that the assumption of 3D anisotropy of the turbulence is verifies (ie: seeing is independent of the direction of observation within 45 degree from zenith).
